Practice diary · Metronome · Pitch monitor · Recorder
Come back to it.
Riprova is a practice diary with a metronome, a tone generator, a pitch monitor and a recorder built in. It is a mobile app and runs in a browser too, with or without a connection.
In private testing. Not open for sign-up yet.
- No streaks, no leaderboards
- Works offline
- Recordings are encrypted on your device before upload
- A teacher sees nothing until you share it
In the app
Tell it how long you have got.
Choose 10 to 60 minutes, or drag for any other time. Riprova suggests a plan from your own ratings, how long it has been since you last played each piece, and what you are working towards. It never opens with your hardest piece, you can change anything, and Just start skips it entirely. Nothing is scored.
Goals with dates and steps.
Set a goal for an exam or a concert, with its exam board and its date. Add the steps along the way, each with a date of its own if you want one, and tick them off. Progress reads as a count, like “2 of 4 done”, never a percentage or a score. Tag your pieces to a goal and it shows the sessions and recordings you have put towards it.
A pitch monitor that watches you play.
Play a note and see its name and how many cents sharp or flat it is, drawn as you go. Switch to a single-note view when you only want one. Set a transposing instrument once and the pitch monitor and tone generator share it. It shows your sound; it does not mark you.
A metronome you can shape.
Set a tempo or tap it in, choose beats per bar and subdivisions, and tap any beat on the ring to accent it or silence it.
Logged in a tap or two.
Start a session in one tap, or log one you have already played. Mark each part green, amber or red as you finish, with a tempo if you want one. Your diary and goals fill in from that, and a goal shows the sessions and recordings you have tagged to it.
In a browser too.
The same app runs in a browser on a laptop or desktop, with the same diary, goals and recordings. It works offline and catches up when you are back online.
Underneath
-
Recordings
Record a take, listen back, and keep it only if you want it, with the piece it belongs to. Recordings are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded.
-
Instruments
Each instrument you play has its own profile, and you switch between them.
-
Offline
Everything is saved on your device first and syncs when there is a connection.
-
Sharing
A teacher sees nothing until you share it, and each kind of thing is shared separately.
-
Attention first
Your repertoire lists what needs attention first, with search, and an archive for the pieces you have finished.
-
Your colours
Choose a colour palette, in light or dark.
-
Streaks and leaderboards
There are none. Nothing in the app is there to keep you in it longer than your practice takes.
