Report a concern
If you are worried about the safety of a child or an adult who uses Riprova, or about how someone is behaving towards them, tell us. You do not need an account, and you do not have to give your name.
If someone is in danger now
Call 999. Do not wait for us. To talk a worry through with an expert, the NSPCC helpline is free on 0808 800 5000. A young person can call Childline free on 0800 1111.
How to tell us
Email hello@ritornomusic.app with the subject "Safeguarding concern". Say what you saw or were told, who it involved (a role is enough if you do not want to name anyone), and when. If you would like a reply, say how to reach you.
Please do not send images, recordings or screenshots of anything harmful. Describe it instead. If it is child sexual abuse material, report it to the Internet Watch Foundation or the police.
What we do
- Jon Rottenbury, who runs Riprova, reads every report. We aim to read a report that says someone is at risk now on the same working day, but we are one person and cannot promise it, so for anyone in danger call 999 or your local council's children's services instead of waiting for us.
- We acknowledge a report within 2 working days if you gave a way to reply, and tell you what we have done within 5 working days, or when we will.
- Where a child or adult may be at risk we tell the police or the local authority, as the law and good practice expect. We do not investigate ourselves.
- If the concern is about a teacher using Riprova, we suspend their access while it is looked at, and tell the local authority designated officer.
- We keep a record of each report, without your name unless you gave it and it is needed.
You can also go straight to the authorities
You never have to go through us. Report a concern about a child to your local council.
